" Because Freedom Is Not Free!"

7th ANNUAL

HEART OF AMERICA PATRIOT BENEFIT

The Heart of America Patriot Foundation is dedicated to honoring those who have served our great country; those who are currently serving; those who are bearing the scars of battle; and to those very special men and women who have paid the ultimate sacrifice to provide us the freedoms we all enjoy today. For our third year, we are hosting the Heart of America Patriot Golf Benefit to raise significant proceeds that will allow us to support our mission year round. This year’s benefit is on Tuesday September 11, 2018 at The Nicklaus Golf Club at Lionsgate. It will be the area’s largest patriotic event on this special day.

The morning begins with a one-hour Patriotic Ceremony supported by the Kansas National Guard. During this ceremony we plan to induct a group of new military enlistees on our stage and in front of those who have served as far back as WWII. Our 2018 Keynote Speaker is Col. Donald “Doc” Ballard. Medal of Honor Recipient. To recognize our fallen heroes, a moment of silence is followed by three rounds from the Salute Battery and the playing of Taps. This very moving ceremony sets the patriotic tone for the rest of the day.

The golf course will be adorned with over 350 American flags with one par 3 hole completely surrounded to form an American flag amphitheater. Each flag stick is topped with an American flag and each green has a patriot volunteer who stands watch over the flag while each team plays through. Each of these volunteers will putt one putt for each team allowing them to participate and help your team. Food stations are positioned around the course and all on-course soft drinks, bottled water, and beer are included in your sponsorship.

Following golf, participants and volunteers gather for a cocktail reception immediately followed by our Patriot Awards Dinner. Here you will rub shoulders with members of our Greatest Generation, many of which have served in most or our nations fiercest battles. For example, Martin Murphy, USMC was in the very first tank that successfully landed on the shores of Iwo Jima will be in attendance along with many Prisoners of War, Purple Heart recipients, and wounded warriors from our most recent wars. These men and women deserve your support by sponsoring our event in some way. The pride you will feel just being at this benefit is enormous.

Beneficiaries of our 2018 event will be local Veteran's Charities and our local Heartland Honor Flight who flies WWII veterans to Washington, DC to visit the memorials built in their honor. In addition, we are currently considering other area veteran organizations in hopes of raising enough money to support more than the first two mentioned. Your support will make this a reality.

This will be a special day for all sponsors, participants, and volunteers. Please support this benefit by sponsoring one of the many opportunities we have made available.
